3-24-20 Message from your dean of students regarding MOVE-OUT

Dear Resident Students,

We are pleased to provide the details of the current plan to create the access you will need to retrieve your belongings. We have designed this plan with your health and safety as our foremost considerations. We will do our best to work with you to make this process as efficient as possible. We created this plan in accordance with the current state and federal COVID-19 management guidelines. Your flexibility and understanding will be appreciated if new directives force us to make changes.

SCHEDULE
The first four days of move-out (Thursday, March 26 – Sunday, March 29) are reserved for students with compromised immunity. Those students are asked to call the Office of Residence Life and Housing at 401.865.2392 to schedule an appointment for one of these days or to make alternative arrangements.

All other students may register for a three-hour time slot between Monday, March 30 and Monday, June 1 by clicking on the link below:

WHEN YOU RETURN TO CAMPUS
Once your appointment is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions. Please bring that email with you, as you will need to present it at the Huxley Avenue entry gate.

In the interest of social distancing, each student may bring only two people to assist them. Please do not come to campus if you are sick or under quarantine.

While we have tried to create flexibility by spreading this process over 10 weeks, we understand that this time frame may not work for some students. If this is the case, please call us to make alternative arrangements.

If you have additional questions, please contact the Office of Residence Life & Housing at reslife@providence.edu or 401.865.2392 or the Dean of Students Office at deanofstudents@providence.edu or 401.865.1782.  Please be sure to leave your name and a callback number so that we can get back in touch with you.

Please know we (student affairs) are here for you. We will continue offering programs remotely (e-sport intramural competitions and fitness programs; career coaching and professional skill development opportunities; even remote BINGO!).  You will receive Monday (aka Morning) Mail each week.  We hold all of our Friars and their families in prayer during these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Steven A. Sears MBA, Ed.D
Dean of Students and Associate Vice President of Student Affairs
